Try out this sensuous avo dip, pepped up with just the right amount of tomato salsa goodness, and your guests are sure to enjoy.
What do I need for this Mexican avo dip recipe?
The ingredient list couldn’t be simpler. Remember to choose your avos carefully so they are ripe and ready to eat.
- 1 (or 2) medium avocado
- 15ml lemon juice
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 2 x 410g tins MIAMI Mexican Style Chopped Tomato
- 2 fresh chillies, deseeded and chopped (or substitute 5ml chilli powder)
- 1 bunch roughly chopped spring onions
- 5ml sugar
- 250ml sour cream
- 100g grated cheddar cheese
- 5ml paprika
How do I make this chilli and avocado Mexican dip?
Now you have everything you need to hand, it’s time to get cracking. Start by lightly peeling and mashing the avos- don’t press too hard, or you will bruise the buttery flesh. Blend in the lemon juice and seasoning. Grab a serving dish ( we advise around 28cm x 18cm), and spread the mix in a thick layer at the base of the dish.
Now drain the MIAMI Mexican Style Chopped Tomato tins through a sieve, and mix them with the chilli, sugar and spring onions. Carefully spread this tasty salsa over the prepared avo layer. Top off with the cream cheese for some cooling tang. Finish off with a light layer of cheddar cheese garnished with the smokey paprika, and you’re ready to serve.
