Breakfast that will keep you going all day
You know what they say- breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Whether or not you believe it, this delectable savoury breakfast from Ella the Cook will have you loving every minute of your morning.
All you need to whip up this succulent feast is a chopped onion, 1 handful each of robot peppers (red, yellow, and green), 2 shredded handfuls of Italian parsley, a tin of our Anything Goes tomato mix, and your favourite wors. Heat some cooking oil to medium in a pan, and get your boerewors browning. When it’s done, toss 1 teaspoon of paprika and 1 teaspoon of garlic, along with a tablespoon of curry paste, into the same oil, add your onion and pepper, and cook until soft and translucent. Add your tin of Anything Goes tomato mix, and gently stir the ingredients together to marry the flavours. When everything is heated through, add lashings of the parsley and stir together again. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
You can either chop your wors into the mix for a hearty stew, use your pepper-and-tomato mix as a relish to pour over the wors, or simply warm the wors and keep your savoury mix in a bowl for dipping. As long as you have some delicious crusty bread and this powerhouse pair in hand, you’ll be set up for a great day further.

If you’re really looking for a quick meal, pick yourself up some pre-made meatballs from your favourite grocer or butcher. If you’d like a bit of a challenge, they’re super-simple to make, too. All you need to do is combine 2 large eggs, 1 small, finely chopped onion, 1 ⅓ cups breadcrumbs, ⅔ cup parmesan cheese, and ¼ cup of water in a large bowl. Add 2 cloves of minced garlic and 2 tsps of an Italian herb blend, salt and pepper. Crumble about 1kg of beef into the bowl and mix well. Each ball you form should be about 3-4 cm in diameter.
Whichever option you choose, simply bake the meatballs in a shallow baking pan for about 15 minutes, until no longer pink.
