Meatless Monday just got a whole lot better with Miami, CeCe Goje, and You! You’re just one Miami Tomato can away from a meal packed with flavour, fragrance and delicious goodness. Here’s how to shake up the humble Risotto and impart a punch of taste that will have the whole family asking for more.
What’s a risotto, anyway?
We tend to think of risotto as a ‘rice’ dish, but it actually uses the unique starch profile of the Arborio, Carnaroli, or Vialone Nano Italian rice’s to create a smooth, creamy, yet not mushy, meal that’s delicious to taste and distinctly different from any other rice dish you may have tried before. Sauteed onions, wine or quality stock, aromatics, and even veggies and mushrooms, combine with the starchy rice for a fragrant yet filling dish linked to the romance of the Italian countryside. Unlike paella, which remains firm while cooked, risotto has a smooth, creamy and unified, if complex, flavour profile. You’ll find tons of recipes, unique to each Italian kitchen, but united in one thing: authentic, delicious Italian cooking at it’s best.
It’s often seen as a difficult dish to get right. In fact, many cooking shows showcase it just to test the skills of their contestants! Luckily for us, CeCe has cracked the secret to a hassle-free risotto that still imparts every inch of that warm Italian flavour you’re craving, without the need to struggle for hours over a fussy dish.
